Spending my Summer city-hopping in North America. My friends and I are flying to Vancouver in 4 days, where we'll be spending the majority of our 5-week trip. We're planning a roadtrip down the West coast as far South as San Diego, which I absolutely cannot wait for!
Then I fly to the East coast to visit my boyfriend in Philadelphia and help him move back to the UK sometime in August :3
Any recommendations of places to visit (or stay) in Seattle, Portland, Redding, San Francisco, Los Angeles or San Diego are very welcome!
Any national parks along the NorthWest are awesome to see if you can afford it. The one I'm thinking of mostly would be Olympic National, with the temperate rainforests. They are absolutely beautiful when sunlight streams through them.
aw I love the atmosphere of this maybe because I love airports...
Places to visit?
Seattle: Space needle or Pacific Science Center Los Angeles: China Town is always fun San Diego: Zoo San Fran: well if you go south Monterey Bay Aquarium is amazing
I lived in all those places except for Redding and San Fran - but you must get to the beaches in Cali
The composition is just completely astonishing. In a good way! The huge portion of the picture that the window and flight information screen take up gives the picture such a wonderfully overwhelming feeling, especially with the long shadows stretched out towards our point of view. I also love the main character's colours and how beautifully they stand out. Not to mention the contrast between the two airplanes and their trails, and how they almost seem to perform the motion of drawing a curtain, unveiling the info screen. Aaaand then there's the fact that I really love airports. Such interesting places.
Oh I'm in Las Vegas, you really should stop by you know.
However, when I'm in California...in San Francisco we stayed at the Marriott Hotel, further into the bay, close to Fisherman's Wharf. That was nice. They have the best gym ever...
And, iPod charging stations, widescreen TV, and super cozy pillows.
In LA, I stay in Hollywood, around the Pantages theatre area, down La Cienaga blvd. at the Holiday Inn hahaha. I actually saw the play Wicked there - highly reccomend it too. I went to Chinatown, that was fun...but worrying. I'm quite paranoid (ah, watch the movie 'Human Trafficking' then go lol, you'll understand.) Fisherman's Wharf is a definitely place to go in San Fran. And definitely Alcatraz it's BEAUTIFUL. Really, it is.
San Diego - Well, the San diego Zoo of course.
Anywho, if you do stop in Vegas, we can go...places and sketch things LOL.
Or i dunno. do something not-so-artsy. hehe. I have Phantom of the Opera tickets. :-D yaaay. (though not sure if you're into theatre, still. you must see Phantom if you stop here.)
Have fun flying, and great piece! It's so well put together.
If your there on a saturday, The saturday market is one place to check out! They have lost of neat stuff there!
You could also go the newport aquarium. If I remember correctly you can feed the seals there!
